The Way To Success Through “The Opposite”

June 5, 2017

“Success is not measured by what you accomplish, but by the opposition you have encountered, and the courage with which you have maintained the struggle against overwhelming odds.”

– Orison Swett Marden

Life is unpredictable, and, often, pretty stormy. Moments of happiness and contentment seem to last much less than the ones of frustration and sadness. Challenges come and try their best to take you down. All these are not a novelty, and even the strongest and the most determined people encounter downfalls and frustration.

What matters the most is how you deal with obstacles and frustration on your way to success.

Failure

Many people see failure as the source of discouragement and self-inflicted proof of worthlessness. And this appears to be the worst assumption and mistake to be made.

Instead, failure should be perceived as a sign to strive more and try harder next time. Therefore, mistakes are made not to be left behind and given up on, but for you to learn from them and become wiser with each and every one of them being made.

“Do not be embarrassed by your failures, learn from them and start again.”

– Richard Branson

One Thing At A Time

Way to be successful is often seen as the one with rush and achievement of a great deal of things almost simultaneously. And, again, this is the wrong, although widely known, assumption. Success comes to those who complete one thing at a time, the quality of it being the highest and efforts justified. Rewarded are those who aim at quality and satisfaction, but not number and velocity.

“Success is simple. Do what’s right, the right way, at the right time.”

– Arnold H. Glasow

Attempt To Please Everybody

Often, we do the utmost to gain the acceptance or recognition of others, fame or even to attempt getting somebody’s love. However, can it really bring success and, even more importantly, feeling of satisfaction? What really matters is your own perception of your achievements. No one can love or value you more than you yourself.

“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.”

– Lucille Ball

Only you yourself are able to determine how successful you can be and how much efforts and time it is going to take. Set your aims, look for the ways to make them happen, do not make lame excuses, and, most importantly, do not loose hope.

“Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be.”

– George Sheehan
